Solar-Powered Supertrees

82+ feet, solar-powered, vertical-garden “trees”… sounds pretty sci-fi. But Singapore’s made these supertrees a reality in its Gardens by the Bay, an “eco-tourist destination showcasing sustainable practices and plants from across the globe” (CNN). Many of the supertrees will provide solar energy for lighting and water technology for conservatories. Not your typical photosynthesis!

Printing a Solar Cell

Solar cell power may become more affordable faster than we think. MIT researchers recently developed materials that make it possible to print photovoltaic cells on paper or fabric. It’s almost as easy as printing out a document. Amazing, check it out here!
