Part of our continuous grounds improvements – a new (not-exactly-regulation) washers pit. Don’t worry washers enthusiasts, we’re planning two other regulation pits elsewhere on the grounds. Ask inside for the washers and get cupping!

Recipe: Garden Bibimbop
This bibimbop recipe was probably our favorite from Sunday’s Culinary Workshop. The “Go Chu Jang,” or pecan paste, has a superb flavor. Many thanks to Andi Jo of Traveling Recipes for another wonderful evening.
Ingredients for Bibimbop: 2 cups cooked brown rice, 4 cups water, 4-5 carrots-julienned, 1 cup Kimchi-chopped, 2 cucumbers-julienned, 1 purple cabbage-shredded, spring onion-finely chopped, cilantro to taste, mushrooms-sliced, zucchini & squash–julienned, Go Chu Jang
Ingredients for Go Chu Jang (Pecan paste): 2.5 cups chopped pecans, 1.5 cup hydrated sundried tomatoes, 1/2 cup water, 2 tbs Korean red pepper, 1 tsp minced ginger, 2 tbs chipotle powder, 3 tbs apple cider vinegar, 1 garlic clove, 1/4 white onion, 4 dates-pitted, 1 red bell pepper optional, 2 tbs kimchi
Procedure for rice: Rinse rice thoroughly, add rice to pot on stove top and add 4 cups water, bring to boil, reduce to simmer and cook covered for 40-45 minutes. Remove from heat. Let sit until serving.
Procedure for Go Chu Jang: Pitt dates. Combine all ingredients in bowl and toss so the flavors carry. Then, place ½ or ⅓ batch into vitamix and blend until fully mixed…you might need to blend in stages using a spatula when the machine is OFF to force the mixture back down into the blade.
Procedure for bibimbop: Prep all ingredients. Saute the mushrooms in a pan on medium heat with 2 tbs of water and the lid on for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside until ready to make.
Presentation: Make an example bowl. If time, make as many bowls as time allows before dinner. Place compacted 3oz scoop of rice into center of each bowl and arrange each ingredient around the rice. Place 2 tbs of the Go Chu Jang next to the rice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Stir and dig in.
New Seasonal Hours
We’re now open until 11pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
