Weekly Updates from in.gredients Neighborhood Grocer

View this email in your browser

What a week!  Thanks to all those who came out to in.sessions.  We had a great time and hope y’all did, too.  Each and every musician and band that came through brought something special, but a few of our favorites were POWERSOLO, Decorator, Yellow Red Sparks, Rock Bottom String Band, Vita and the Woolf, and Kiven.

Check out more photos on our Facebook page.  Have some to share? Post ’em and tag us!  And, of course, look for more live music on the porch this spring!

Weekly Specials:

This week it’s all about “BYOC” (Bring Your Own Container). Rather than donating the usual 5 cents to our community non-profit partner each time you bring in a container for reuse, this week we’ll donate 10 cents per container!  Help us finish off our partnership with SafePlace on a high note by practicing zero waste shopping.

New Community Partner Voting is OPEN!

This week we’re asking you to help us decide our next non-profit partner by voting online or in person (at our front counter when you check out).  The four finalists in the running are: EcoRise Youth Innovations, Attendance Records, GALS, and Kealing PTA.  You have until March 23rd to cast your vote for the new partnership that kicks off on April 1st.

Events:

Geeks Who Drink Trivia

Thursday, March 20th at 7pm

Come compete with your friends and neighbors for some coveted prizes (including $25 and $10 store credit for first and second place, respectively!).  This is a free and open event but please note that the content is not intended for children.

Comedy Night
Thursday, March 20th
@ 9pm (after trivia)

Team Member Ben Cholok hosts in.gredients’ second “Home Grown Comedy” night.  “Locally sourced” talent performing from 9-11pm, directly following Geeks Who Drink Trivia.  Lighten up after the intensity of the quiz competition (or celebrate your victory) and enjoy some laughs with us.

Cherrywood Lantern Walk

Friday, March 21st at Dusk
We’re glad to be the final stop on Cherrywood’s first “Lantern Walk,” a celebration of the Baha’i & Persian New Year, and the first day of Spring!  Join your neighbors at Pocket Park on 34th and Cherrywood at 7pm, then stroll up here to in.gredients with lanterns and glow bracelets to finish off the evening.   We’ll have plenty of local beverages and eats to cap a fine evening.

Global Soup Party
w/ Cooking Up Cultures

Sunday, March 23rd at 5-8pm

Global Soup is a once a month party that celebrates Austin’s multicultural community.  This month at in.gredients, a local chef will be serving up delicious soup (BYOBowl) with live music and conversation.  Get tickets here.  Proceeds benefit Cooking Up Cultures.

Send us a message if you’d like to plan an event here – we’re a great spot to host your next happy hour, meeting, or birthday party.

Promotions and News:

New Seasonal Hours

We’re now open until 11pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Coffee (etc.) of the Month

We’re excited to announce a new partnership with Equal Exchange, one of the pioneers in Fair Trade cooperatives that dates back to 1986.  Find their rich “Love Buzz” coffee blend on sale all month, plus look for their emblem elsewhere in our bulk section for the highest quality, small-producer dried fruits and nuts.  We’re especially excited about their dried mango, which has the complex flavor and taste only small-batch harvests and sustainably-grown fruits can bring.  Be on the lookout for their baking cocoa, cashews, and California almonds, too!
