Have you listened to a TED talk yet?

If you haven’t, picture this: influential people giving short lectures on things that matter. With the mission, “ideas worth sharing”, TED talks were developed to showcase the convergence between technology, entertainment and design. Since 1983 the format of TED talks has changed and expanded, offering up unique presentations to stimulate dialogue on a variety of issues.

One addition has been the TEDx program. The TEDx talks are designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to create dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. There seems to be one popping up in every city, creating a culture of knowledge and innovation around the world.

While scrolling through the list of TEDx talks, we were excited to see that TEDx Manhattan’s theme is Changing the Way We Eat. This day long conference on Saturday, February 16th, brings together leaders from the food community to present on why our food system matters, and what needs to change.

Knowledge is meant to be shared, so we’re hosting a screening of the TEDx talk at in.gredients. We’ve invited local food leaders from our community to come be a part of the event and help facilitate discussions about our local food scene.

Come join us on Saturday, February 16th from 9:30-4:30 for this inspiring TEDx talk. We’ll have snacks available as well as food and drink specials. Our sponsors, Pate Letelier and Third Coast Coffee, will be providing some delicious local goodies during the conference. Afterwards we’ll have a social happy hour so we can discuss all the new ideas and information we’ve gleaned from the TEDx talk. If you want to attend, check out the schedule details here and RSVP so we can prepare snacks and drinks accordingly.

We’ll see you there!
