About Circle Brewing
Purity. Not a word that you would commonly associate with beer these days. Sad, we know, but true. Adjuncts (rice and cheap sugars) commonly make their way into mass market beers, lowering quality and limiting taste. Thankfully, most beer drinkers can taste that for themselves. Say what you will about brews that add herbs, spices, berries, and fruits. Unfortunately, what most don’t see through is the use of chemicals and additives to clarify, add head retention, stabilize, and artificially enhance poorly brewed beer.
How are we different, you ask? We follow the German Purity Law or Reinheitsgebot. Dating back to 1516, the German Purity Law restricts the use of any ingredient other than simply the essential Water, Malt, Hops, and Yeast. Created to protect the quality and purity of the beer in Bavaria, the German Purity Law became a guideline and blueprint for breweries for centuries. The law was abandoned in 1988, but the proudest German breweries continue this legacy and insist on the practice today.
At Circle Brewing Company, we couldn’t agree more. All of our beers follow this strict policy of using only the four main ingredients with NONE of the chemicals, cheap additives or adjuncts, or gimmicky fruits or spices. Pure, uncomplicated beers that are great because they were made the way they should be. But a beer is worth a thousand words. Try it and then you’ll know the difference.

Envy – Amber: Envy is the perfect balance between malt and hops. Not too dry or too sweet, it is a full-bodied and complex beer without being overly heavy. The dried fruit notes that characterize the ale’s yeast profile conjure flavors reminiscent of a lighter version of an old-style English Extra Special Bitter.
Blur – Texas Hefe: Blur is a perfect warm weather brew for Austin’s hottest summer months. This Texas twist on the old German wheat beer brings with it a hint of caramel to a crisp and refreshing style. The hint of citrus plays off the light and creamy body to create a beer that has no rival whether you enjoy it in the sun or in the shade.
Nightlight – Dry Irish Stout: Nightlight is a full-flavored beer that expertly balances that richness with lightness in body to create a different type of Stout. This Dry Irish Stout may look intimidating, but after one sip, you know what’s up. Representing a wide spectrum of roasted and oaky flavors, this not-too-bitter brew engages all the right senses, but leaves you with the stomach for a second round.
